Zorn Consultants has 15 years of experience as network organisation. Our extensive network and long-term alliances facilitate effectiveness, flexibility and development.
As clients’ needs are leading, we deliver the right expertise from our network.
Networking with colleagues means that we challenge one another, develop our craftsmanship together and are innovative. Moreover, our way of working leads to extensive experience in working in a (culturally) divers team, which supports our approach. When it comes to cooperation and development we know what we are talking about.
Founder, Henning Zorn
As international management and communications consultant I focus on providing customised support. For almost 30 years I support people and organisations in their development.
In terms of themes, I focus on leadership and (project) management, cross-border communication, collaboration and negotiation, team development and virtual teamwork, diversity and inclusion, global cooperation and personal growth (business) integrity.
Personal style and strength
What fascinates me in my work is the contact with people from very different backgrounds and the question what makes them tick. My mission and my strength lie in co-creating opportunities and solutions that build on participants’ ideas. I challenge in order to develop new perspectives. Essentially that’s a major part in all projects I am involved in.
I aim to combine behavioural change with development and growth. Education, training and coaching generally focus on changing current to more effective behaviour. For sustainable behavioural change we need to explore the relationship between participants’ identity, motives and ambitions and the organisation’s vision and strategy. Hence personal and professional development get alined and can get connected to existing qualities and the development of future competencies.
Participants tell me that our collaboration inspires, yields personal growth and practical skills.
Background and education
Graduated as organisational anthropologist (MA) from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, and as a drama teacher at the Hogeschool Leeuwarden, I worked for KLM between 1986 and 1991 as researcher, developer and trainer. Between 1991 and 2000 I worked as senior cross-cultural management consultant at the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT), before I started working independently in 2000.
Accredited as Practitioner Coach, I am a member of the Dutch Association of Professional Coaches (NOBCO), the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC), the Global Coaches Network (GCN), SIETAR, the Society for Intercultural, Education, Training and Research and the CAP, the Coaching Academy Professionals.
With some close colleagues I organise the annual Global Community Dialogue. The 10th GCD recently took place in Oaxaca, Mexico in 2015.
A couple of years ago Connection Scan was developed in cooperation with two colleagues. Connection Scan is a unique tool that creates a picture of until now invisible relationship patterns of teams and whole organisations. (www.connection-scan.com).
Since 2006 I am a board member and since 2012 I chair the Foundation Children of Mexico, a Dutch foundation supporting local organizations that help street children in Mexico and Latin America off the streets into school.
Besides attending professional acting classes over a period of 5 years, I have continued working on my personal and professional development. I am certified for various leadership and personality profiles.
I’m trained and experienced as assessors.
After high school in Germany and my alternative military service there, I moved in 1976 to the Netherlands to study Pedagogy and Psychology at the University of Groningen. In 1984 I became a Dutch citizen. Today my family and I share our time between Amsterdam, Netherlands and Oaxaca, Mexico.
I am fluent in English, German, Dutch and reasonable in Spanish.
